Piascledine is a medication primarily composed of two active ingredients: avocado soybean unsaponifiable (ASU) and soybean oil. It’s commonly used for managing symptoms associated with osteoarthritis, a condition characterized by joint pain, stiffness, and reduced mobility. ASU is believed to have anti-inflammatory properties and may help protect and repair cartilage, which can alleviate some of the symptoms of osteoarthritis. Soybean oil serves as a carrier for ASU. Product is often used as part of a comprehensive treatment plan for osteoarthritis, which may also include other medications, physical therapy, and lifestyle modifications.
How to use Piascledine
Adults, including elderly patients:
- Take one capsule per day, with a meal.
- Swallow the whole capsule with a glass of water. Do not bite it or chew it.
- The duration of treatment is usually 3 to 6 months.
- The effect of this drug may occur with a delay of up to several weeks.
- If you feel that the improvement does not occur very quickly, you should not stop treatment without consulting your doctor or pharmacist.
- If you feel that the effect is too strong or too weak, contact your doctor.
Contraindications
- Do not use Piascledine if you are allergic to avocado and/or soy or any of the other ingredients of this drug.
- Also if you have an allergy to peanuts.
Ingredients
Each capsule contains 100 mg of avocado oil unsaponifiable fraction and 200 mg of soybean oil unsaponifiable fraction.
Other ingredients are butylhydroxytoluene, colloidal silicon dioxide, titanium dioxide (E171), gelatin, erythrosine (E127), yellow iron oxide (E172), bovine gelatin (Type B), polysorbate 80.
